DJ Homes has equipped our homes with a number of standard features that are designed to make day-to-day living easier for those of us with disabilities. First, each home is built as close to the ground as possible to prevent having a stairway leading to the home’s main entrance. Usually, only a short threshold must be bridged for entry.

Once inside, all hallways and doorways on the ground floor are of sufficient width to accommodate wheelchairs. Additionally, all interior and exterior doors are equipped with lever handles, in lieu of knobs, for ease of entry. All homes have a Master Bathroom with an ADA approved 5’ turning radius for ease of maneuvering. And, all floorplans feature a continuous, unobstructed path connecting accessible elements.

In order to accommodate our customers who require further alterations or additional accessibility features, our Selections Coordinator can discuss with you the availability of such options as roll-in showers, grab bars, cabinetry options, and other products and features which will make life easier on those who have special mobility needs.
